Food Committee Minutes

Discussion:
- Concerned about salt being added to food for residents with high blood pressure
- Request for condiments when hot dogs and hamburgers are on the menu
- Heartier soups
- Recipe was given for Scones from Christina that will be added to the new Spring/Summer upcoming menu
- Bacon is to chewy and hard to eat, suggested trying another brand
- Tea selection is very broad, requested to be narrowed down and bring in a seasonal tea to reflect the present season
Actions Taken:
- Spoke with Cooks who are no longer adding salt during meal preparation. Salt and pepper shakers are on tables to be added by residents if they please
- Ketchup, Mustard and Relish bottles have been purchased for each table to add condiments if they choose on hot dog and hamburger days
- Heartier soups will be added to the Spring/Summer Menu
- Christina’s Scone Recipe will be added as a breakfast choice to the Spring/Summer Menu
- A new brand of bacon has been purchased
- Tea has been limited to the following options: orange pekoe, orange pekoe decaf, earl grey, chamomile, peppermint and a rotating seasonal option
